is part of this year Art Quilt Elements 2016 show at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wayneart.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wayne Art Center<\/a> in Wayne, PA.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/artquiltelements.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Art Quilt Elements<\/a> is an international juried quilt exhibition celebrating this year its 12th anniversary.\u00a0 It is on view from March 18 to April 30, 2016.\u00a0 Opening reception: April 2 from 1 to 4 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The piece is 32\u2033 x 30\u2033\u00a0 and is created by monoprinting on fabric.\u00a0 I use fabric paint which I brush on a Plexiglas plate and draw on the plate with a rubber tool.\u00a0 Then I print directly on fabric.\u00a0 For this piece I used plates of various sizes.\u00a0 After cutting the fabric I assembled the elements to create this composition.\u00a0 It is a departure from my Units series but it came out naturally as I am drawing more regularly.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a detail of the work which shows the brush strokes, the drawing lines as well as some of the quilting lines with black thread:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.benedictecaneill.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/CurvaliciousDetailAQE-copy.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-486\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-486\" src=\"https:\/\/www.benedictecaneill.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/CurvaliciousDetailAQE-copy-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"CurvaliciousDetailAQE copy\" width=\"509\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.benedictecaneill.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/CurvaliciousDetailAQE-copy-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.benedictecaneill.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/CurvaliciousDetailAQE-copy-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.benedictecaneill.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/CurvaliciousDetailAQE-copy-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.benedictecaneill.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/CurvaliciousDetailAQE-copy.jpg 1800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 509px) 100vw, 509px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My piece: &#8220;Curvalicious&#8221;
