Materials/Techniques: Cotton canvas-wool batting-cotton backing-fabric paints-embroidery thread-quilting thread.

Canvas slashed, painted, printed and hand embroidered with cotton thread.  Machine quilted.

Short statement:
This piece depicts an abstract landscape inspired by marks observed in nature from aerial photographs I took while flying over the US and Europe looking at the imprint of man on the landscape. The many layers of stitches come forward or recede in the background, blending the various elements of the composition.
